I’ve dug in some more. The UN list comes from an earlier UN list, including those codes. There is more info available there, such as symbol, but still no human understandable code like you see in the OM2 vocab. So you would get M4, monetary value, but not something like monetaryValue. There are rdf-based definitions of everything. It is not a completely stable list yet, but most of it goes back a number of years.
I think this will make sense to add into VF as another recommended standard for units. That will take a bit of work to see how to make it easy for people, we’ll need to do some blending of our own, I think. But it is deeply embedded into the set of standards supporting the Digital Product Passport and similar, which will be something VF has the data structure for and will want to provide. That won’t affect this FEP, although there is discussion in other marketplace apps about providing provenance/history about what is offered to people, e.g. for understanding sustainability.
