This best-practice of linking may need more attention and promotion, so it becomes the norm. Additional advantage is that - where acknowledged news media link to FEP specs - w3id.org/fep article references allows “Fediverse enhancement proposals” to get its own Wikipedia page.
This CANNOT be the official FEP policy as this topic is not final. Also it would be good to separate out the issue of Links to the Markdown files to all the JSON-LD stuff.
If we made these links official policy, one can also use them in an eventual static site: #673 - WIP: Create a FEP static site - fediverse/fep - Codeberg.org
