When I’m composing a post, I sometimes want to post a link without a link preview box being inserted into the post. Is it possible to turn that off in discourse, or make available an option to turn it off on a post-by-post basis?
Isn’t the preview box only shown when you put the link on its own line? (Or was that another system?)
Yes it is, and otherwise you can explicitly mardown-format it… e.g.:

Same for external links, where the OpenGraph metadata generate the preview.
