I couldn’t post this in the standards category, but I suppose it crosses standards and community concerns… I wanted to draw your attention to this: #403 - ARKs for FEPs? - fediverse/fep - Codeberg.org
The TL;DR is, I’ll be in a position to offer stable identifiers for FEPs. I wonder if there is community interest in that?
I’d prefer one place for discussion, if any, so perhaps head over to codeberg to comment. But I won’t ignore questions or feedback here, of course!

I’m interested and thank you for the offer I have a related question:
Currently, FEPs have references, see e.g. https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep/src/branch/main/fep/a4ed/fep-a4ed.md#references, which are essentially freeform. It would be nice to have a more systematic approach to it. Does ARK provide something like that?
I know that for internet stuff, there is also https://www.specref.org/, which accomplishes something like that.

The best practice is to have opaque identifiers, it seems, but there is no specific restriction.
