The bigger question indeed: Where’s SocialHub headed? At minimum there’s a discussion forum and a do-ocracy, and that needs 2 people doing chores. All else requires more people stepping to the plate i.e. SocialHub: Made by you.
SocialHub is nothing without you
There have been several appeals and reminders by @how and me for more community support. Without that SocialHub may discontinue.
Is SocialHub just a forum, or a true community, that is the question.
In relation to the quoted text, for there to be a community, the call whether to host the Fediversity and have it federating, should first of all be a community decision (thus not up to the admins, which is just a community role). And all subsequent changes should be supported / maintained by the community, for it to be sustainable. The community needs more volunteers and
As for do-ocracy, “pick any task and steer it to completion”, the member initiative “Host the Fediversity” taken on by @strypey may bump into more tasks to be done or delegated. For instance, does the forum have enough active admins and moderators to give good response times to member requests? And also e.g. defining what constitutes a “community decision”.
