[DE] Meinen ersten PeerTube-Account hatte ich auf einer Tech-Instanz. Als ich nach Wochen wieder reinschaute, waren zwischen den Videos zu Technikthemen plötzlich wissenschaftsfeindliche Videos von Impfgegner:innen, Verschwörungsvideos von Reichsbürgern und Antisemit:innen, Propagandavideos von Putintrollen und demokratiefeindliche Videos von Rechtslibertären. Die Moderator:innen reagierten nicht auf meine Hinweise.
Ich schloss meinen Account.
Inzwischen betreibe ich eine PeerTube-Instanz für einen Verein. Die brauchen wir hauptsächlich, um Videos in unsere Websites einbinden zu können, ohne dass unsere Besucher:innen von Dritten getrackt werden. Wir sind also nicht auf das Föderieren angewiesen, wollten es aber gern ausprobieren, weil wir das Fediverse gut finden. Obwohl wir nur vereinsinterne User auf der Instanz haben, habe ich als Admin ständig mit Rechtsextremen zu tun – durch Follow-Anträge anderer Instanzen.

Had my first PeerTube on a tech site. When I came back weeks later, among the videos on tech topics there were suddenly anti-science videos by anti-vaccinationists, conspiracy videos by Reichsbürger and anti-Semites, propaganda videos by Putin trolls and anti-democratic videos by right-wing libertarians. The moderators did not react to my comments.
I closed my account.
In the meantime, I do run a PeerTube instance for an association. We need it mainly to be able to embed videos in our websites without our visitors being tracked by third parties. So we are not dependent on federation, but we wanted to try it out because we like the Fediverse. Although we only have internal users on the instance, as an admin I constantly have to deal with right-wing extremists - through follow requests from other instances. -
