The community in Germany started the fedi.camp and what follows is a translation in english, as well as a CFP for remote or physical participation in english and german.

What?
Planed is a camp for and with people from the Fediverse. The first survey for participants was successfully completed by the end of January. Of course there is still the possibility to register.

Where?
Selected was Gasthaus Wiese in the Wendland. The guesthouse has experience with camps and groups, an appropriate area is available. They are already looking forward to the visit from Fediverse.
The meadow is big enough for tents and campers of any design, it is also possible to stay overnight in the guest rooms of the inn for a fee (please organize privately, contact details below).

Costs?
For 50 people in the period Thursday (arrival, setup) to Monday (dismantling), including showers, electricity and internet we would have to pay 800€ site rent. That would be about 30€ p.p. for about 30 people, plus general costs for things to rent like tables, benches, possibly kitchen utensils, ropes, possibly tents etc.
For communal food, using local supplies, we calculate about 1,000€.
In total we will hardly come under 2.000€ for the whole event - that means with 30 people approx. 70€ p.p., with 50 people 40€ p.p. - alternatively everyone can of course bring things which we can use together for cooking.
In short: With 30€ you are in place; food and other things we organize together will be added. But we try to design, make and bring as much as possible ourselves.
If someone wants to participate, but it fails because of the money, please register anyway, and for sure we find a solution!

The meadow is not directly at the house - for the network connection we need to bring an Ethernet cable of about 100 m, an AccessPoint, a small switch and accessories. Electricity is available as 16A three-phase current on a long line, for this we still need a suitable distributor.

Due to bandwidth limitations of video conferencing software, we ask for those
who wish to participate in the Big Blue Button sessions to register.
There is no registration fee for virtual attendance.
