Inkwell — A federated social journaling platform built on ActivityPub

Hi SocialHub. I wanted to introduce a project I have been building called Inkwell, a federated social journaling platform now live at inkwell.social.

The concept is simple: a space built for long-form personal writing with no algorithm, no ads, and no engagement mechanics designed to hijack your attention. Think LiveJournal and early MySpace rebuilt on open standards for 2026. The federation layer is built using Fedify, running as a Node.js sidecar alongside a Phoenix/Elixir backend.

ActivityPub support is functional at the protocol level — WebFinger, actor endpoints, inbox/outbox, and HTTP signatures are all implemented. Full federation deployment is the next major milestone, and I am actively working toward it.

What I am looking for right now is feedback from people who think seriously about the federated web. If you have opinions on how journaling and long-form content should behave in the Fediverse, I would genuinely love to hear them. Early voices in this community tend to shape things in ways that matter.

You can explore the platform at inkwell.social. It is open and early, which means your feedback carries real weight right now.
