Posts are only showing in replies and not in profile

I am trying to create an ActivityPub server and sending posts to the Mastodon inbox.

However, I can only see posts when I reply to an existing thread. If I just post to “…/activitystreams#Public” it never shows up on my profile. Same for my followers list, I can see the number of people I am following but when I click into the list its not viewable.

I have confirmed my actor and webfinger are set up correctly. I am hosting my posts after they are created, I am accepting follower requests in my inbox and have a working outbox.

Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Does anyone on Mastodon follow you? If not, Mastodon will discard your message as “unrelated to local users”.

Yes I created another mastodon account to test with and it is following the user on my own server.
