A new study is putting out a call for participation in small group workshops on community governance of decentralized media. This study looks to focus on friction caused by interactions between communities using different software and governance systems, so it would likely benefit from the experience of everyone here! This looks really interesting – and the lead researcher’s previous study on Mastodon was very well done, so I signed up in a heartbeat.

I’m happy others can do it and will certainly read the results… But Zoom, Amazon Incentives, US-focused… I think there are too many biases here that shout cognitive dissonance from what the Fediverse was borne from.
